About me

Hi there. I’m a Second Year Law Student at the University of Birmingham. I have too many thoughts and opinions that I don’t get to express about the law, unless it is in my notes. So, I’m writing them here. As the law is becoming more accessible with social media, I can hardly stand by and not have my say.

I went to a state school and worked hard to get where I am today. I am always doing 10 things at a time. I am a feminist and advocate for human rights. After becoming obsessed with Article 10 of the Human Rights Act 1998 (go look it up) in my first year, I will continue to advocate for people’s rights in many of my blog posts.

Many of my opinions are still forming and are imperfect as I’ve only had one year of legal study. However, I think it is valuable to have a student’s perspective on the law as we are the closest to the public who also have had no legal training. I am shocked and awed at the law every single day. It is rare that I am not engaged by something in my lectures, no matter how dry they might be.

So, while I’m learning, you will be too. Just keep reading, because as I’m reminded on a daily basis, we can only improve ourselves by educating ourselves. Then, with that knowledge we can go out into the world and do something worthwhile.
